December 2020: A Letter from the Job Lady

Hello, Cleveland State University community—

Well, you’ve done it again! Another semester is in the books. I know you have pulled out all the stops to manage a one-of-a-kind experience this fall. Kudos to you! I hope you eat something delicious or loudly listen to your favorite song to celebrate.

If you follow us on social media (@CSU_Careers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), you have likely seen our campaign for a successful winter break. It’s the perfect time to catch up on sleep, take a brisk walk for fresh air, or curl up with a good book (see recommendations of what we’re reading below). And, it’s a solid time to network as we reunite with friends, family and others in our circles whether virtually or while masked.

Here’s hoping that soon enough you can catch some well-earned rest and restoration as we take a break at the end of the calendar year.

The Job Lady at CSU

In December, Career Services will maintain our normal hours: Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. However, the “office”—and the university—will be closed from December 24 through January 3.

We encourage all students to reach out to us—no matter where they are in their professional development. Please encourage students to see Career Services if they are:

• Exploring interests and potential careers

• Wondering what they can do with their major

• Interested in applying for internships and jobs

• In need of developing interpersonal skills

• Struggling to describe their strengths and skills
