KAPLAN TEST PREP PORTAL
Dental Admission Test (DAT)
Dental school admissions committees use your DAT score and your academic record to assess whether you have the foundation to build a successful dental career. The test is taken on a computer and has four sections: Survey of Natural Sciences, Perceptual Ability, Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Reasoning. Prep is recommended once a student has enrolled in or completed Organic Chemistry II and Intro to Biology II.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
On the path to becoming a licensed professional engineer, students must first earn a bachelor's degree and pass the FE exam. The exam measures a student's competency in over 25 knowledge areas that represent the expectations for a successful engineer. Test prep is recommended no sooner than a student's final semester.
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Students interested in pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other management-related professional degree should consider taking the GMAT.
Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
Students who want to deepen their studies in graduate school are often required to take the GRE as part of their admissions process. Administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS), the GRE measures the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to excel in a graduate program.
Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
Getting a high score on the LSAT can help set students on a path to a successful career. Administered by the Association of Law School Admission Council (LSAC), the LSAT is an integral part of a student's law school admissions application. It is designed specifically to standardize the admissions process for law schools.
Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)
For anyone wanting to attend medical school in the United States and Canada, the MCAT is a major step forward. This standardized test allows admissions officers to measure how qualified and prepared an applicant is for medical school. National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX)
The NCLEX has one purpose: to determine if it's safe for you to begin practice as an entry-level nurse. It is significantly different from any test that you took in nursing school. While nursing school exams are knowledge-based, the NCLEX-RN tests application and analysis using the nursing knowledge you learned in school. You will be tested on how you can use critical thinking skills to make nursing judgements.
Optometry Admission Test (OAT)
All schools and colleges of optometry require candidates to submit OAT scores for admissions. The OAT is designed to predict genearl academic ability and measure the two skills needed by future optometrists: scientific knowledge and analytical ability . It does this by testing your knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology;; your reading comprehension ability; and your quantitative reasoning skills. Prep is recommended once a student has enrolled in or completed Intro to Biology II, Organic Chemistry II, and Physics II.
