Hello, Cleveland State University community—
I have heard nothing but amazing stories from people who have gone to “The Wolstein” to get their vaccine. I generally respond, “That’s what you get when our National Guard is running things!”
But what is also usually part of these stories are compliments about our student workers who are aiding in the process. Our student workers wouldn’t have this opportunity if it wasn’t for the meticulous efforts, hard work, and dedication of one of our own: Hyacinthe Raven, Student Employment Manager.
Hyacinthe – along with Karrie Stone from Payroll, Jillian Keller from the MareyJoyce Green Women’s Center, and Shane Conner from Student Affairs – have been our secret weapons in this effort. Thanks to each of you for all you have done to enable students to get terrific experiential learning!
And now it’s time for me to sign off. After 8+ years here at Cleveland State, and nearly 5 years overseeing the re-make of Career Services (one of the most rewarding experiences of my career), I am “taking my talents” to Reos Partners, a global consulting firm. I am thrilled about this opportunity!
And, it has been bittersweet to leave my amazing colleagues – YOU! Despite all the challenges, dedicated faculty and staff like you make all the difference in our students’ lives. I have so enjoyed working with you, and I will miss you. I know each of you turn yourselves inside out on behalf of our beloved students, regardless of the barriers in our way. Know that I see you, and appreciate each of you and what you have taught me, so very much.
And please don’t forget to share these awesome events with said students!!
