VETERANS
CSU's Viking Vet: Known as The Viking Vets, the Veteran Student Success Program serves the over 600 veterans attending Cleveland State University and provide the following services to all veterans, serving military personnel and military family attending CSU.
MOS Code to Civilian Occupations Translator: Use the translator tool below to convert your MOS code to a civilian occupation.
JST – Joint Service Transcript: Lists schools and training completed by the service member and the ACE equivalent. Free for the veteran to print out.
Military Friendly: Lists Military Friendly® designated employers, who show commitment to creating better outcomes for veterans.
ApprenticeshipUSA: Supported by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Provides details to veterans about registered apprenticeship
DOL, CareerOneStop: Sponsored by DOL and is a partner of the American Job Center Network. Helps veterans explore career options, locate training and find jobs.
Feds Hire Vets: Operated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Serves as OPM’s government-wide veterans employment website, and is a critical component of the federal government’s strategy for the recruitment and employment of veterans.
The Gold Card Initiative: Joint effort of the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) and Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS). Provides unemployed, post-9/11-era veterans with the follow-up services they need to succeed in today’s job market.
Hire Heroes USA: Founded by John Bardis as a non-profit organization that empowers U.S. military members, veterans and military spouses to succeed in the civilian workforce. Works to transform military service into civilian successes via personalized career preparation alongside resources for interested employers.
Hiring Our Heroes: Supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Connects veterans, service members and military spouses with meaningful employment opportunities.
My Next Move for Veterans: Sponsored by ETA and DOL, and developed by the National Center for O*NET Development. Offers an interactive tool to help vets learn about career options.
Student Veterans of America: Through a dedicated network of more than 1,500 on-campus chapters in all 50 states and three countries overseas representing more than 750,000 student veterans, SVA connects student veterans with the necessary resources, network support, and advocacy to ensure student veterans can effectively connect, expand their skills, and ultimately achieve their greatest potential.
USAJOBS: Run by OPM. Helps recruit, retain, and honor a world-class government workforce for the American people, and offers different hiring paths.
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA): Run by the U.S. government. Offers myriad resources and essential information for veterans.
Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS): Supported by DOL. Prepares America’s veterans, service members and their spouses for careers, provides them with employment resources and expertise, protects their employment rights, and promotes their employment opportunities.
Veterans.Gov: Supported by DOL. Offers employment resources for veterans.
Veterans Jobs Mission: Partnered with Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF). Began in 2011 as the 100,000 Jobs Mission with 11 leading companies committed to hiring 100,000 veterans by 2020, and evolved to 200-plus leading member companies that represent virtually every industry in the U.S. economy. Renamed the Veteran Jobs Mission and collectively hired 450,000-plus veterans. Offers class-leading programs in career, vocational, and entrepreneurship education and training, and provides service members, veterans, and their families with the skills needed to be successful in education, work, and life.
Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), Warriors to Work: Veteran employment program run by WWP, which was founded in 2003 as a non-profit organization to help post-9/11 wounded warriors. Provides career guidance and support services to wounded warriors, their families, and caregivers interested in transitioning to the civilian workforce.

Center for International Services & Programs: The mission of the Center for International Services and Programs is to serve and promote an urban university where students, faculty and staff gain international knowledge and experience. We wish to further the mission of the University, which is to "prepare our students to lead productive, responsible and satisfying lives in the region and global society."

LGBTQ+ Student Services: LGBTQ+ Student Services is committed to enhancing the overall educational experience of the CSU community. We provide resources, support, and educational programming that promotes the academic and personal growth and development of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning students and their allies, work to assure unrestricted access to and full involvement in all aspects of CSU, and strive to create a more inclusive and welcoming campus climate for all students.
LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland: The LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland's mission is to enrich the lives of the diverse LGBTQ+ community in Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio region through advocacy, support, education, and celebration.
Human Rights Campaign: Corporate Equality Index: Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.
WOMEN
The Mareyjoyce Green Women's Center: The Women's Center strives to remove barriers to student success through education, services, support and referrals. The Women's Center serves the entire CSU Community, with an emphasis on women, student-parents and returning learners.
Lean In: Research shows that we feel more confident and are able to accomplish more in groups. Lean In Circles are small peer groups that meet regularly to learn and grow together. Lean In runs a network of more than 37,000 Circles in cities and on campuses around the world, and they are changing lives. Members are asking for more, stepping outside their comfort zones, and leaning in.
